An exhibition on waste was opened in Celje
On 19 April 2019, the Museum of Recent History in Celje opened the Invisible Life of Waste exhibition, which was created in cooperation with the project led by the ZRC SAZU.
The exhibition, which will be on display until August 31, 2019, answers the issues we face as a society, both locally and globally. Many things that we did not have a couple of decades or even years ago are now becoming waste and are endangering our health, destroying habitats and threatening the future.
The exhibition in Celje was opened by its authors from the museum, Sebastjan Weber and Urška Repar. Afterwards, the head of the project, Dr Dan Podjed, held a speech about the contemporary meaning of waste. The official opening ended when Dr Tone Kregar, director of the museum, emptied a garbage bag in a trash can, which was a part of the exhibition, and pointed out the importance of such engaged activities in museum.
